WHAT'S NEW


  • We are thrilled to announce that the BookWorm Cafe will be opening. After some ups and downs, we are happy to announce that the cafe is open and ready for business. We will not be installing vending machines and, after the public opinion survey we did, know that the residents would prefer to have the cafe. Starting September 17, visitors can grab a drink or snack from the cafe. Hours and menu here.

  • Art ClubCalling all creative kids in grades 1-8 to join The Art Club on Monday, September 17 from 4:30-5:30. Join the club where you'll create some awesome art, discover new books & more. This month, create some clothespin art to hang your masterpieces. Register today!

  • Lego Grant
  • Please support the Library in its attempts to win a $5000 grant or an early literacy kit from Lego Duplo and the ALSC. Use each of your Internet-ready devices to vote daily at www.readplaybuild.com through October 1st. The more often you vote, the better our chances for FREE money for books and supplies. No registration necessary -- just click the link then select Illinois > New Lenox > New Lenox Public Library District and hit the Nominate button. It's that simple! Remember to vote daily, and spread the word!

  • The Scene*NEW PROGRAM!* Join us after school from 4:30-5:30 on Friday, September 14 for The Scene, for grades 4-8. Hang out with friends and chow down on some snacks while enjoying a different activity each month. Registration is requested, but drop-ins are also welcome. September's theme: Get Crafty! Registration begins August 17.

  • Minute Mania*NEW PROGRAM!* Join us from 6:00-7:00 for Minute Mania on Thursday, September 27, for grades 4-8. Have some snacks and race against the clock with your friends while playing games from the TV shows Minute to Win It or Silent Library! September's theme: Minute to Win It. Sign up with a partner if you can; otherwise, we'll pair you up during the program. Registration is requested, but drop-ins are also welcome. Please be on time; program starts promptly at 6:00 PM. Registration begins August 30.

  • Summer Reading Program WinnersWOW! This year we had our highest number of readers ever who signed up for summer reading! A big congratulations goes out to the readers at Arnold J. Tyler School who won our first annual Summer Reading School Competition! Way to go, Tigers!
